Spicy Filipino Men Going to Melbourne Australia

I will be flying to Sydney then Melbourne and will be based in Australia for a while.  I have no choice but to spend my first xmas away from the usual Filipino christmas celebration.  This must be a new and different way to celebrate the season.  I am looking for new friends in Australia especially in Sydney and Melbourne areas, of course even in other states basta pwede maging kaibigan.  Being new to the country, I will be most likely feeling lonely so I guess getting connected with other Filos based in the area will be a good upside to combat homesickness.
